As the New Business Lead for the Public Sector, you will be accountable for setting and executing our strategy to add new clients to our Public Sector portfolio.

As the New Business Lead for the Public Sector, you will be accountable for setting and executing our strategy to add new clients to our Public Sector portfolio. 

You’ll work closely with our wider sales, marketing, tech and strategy teams to achieve this goal. You’ll have great craft skills - being able to write winning bids and presentations. You’ll have a deep understanding - of frameworks, standards, and government departments allowing you to lead valuable conversations and content. You’ll have a strategic, creative approach to growth - thinking about targeting, qualification, and partnerships to give us the best chance of success.

  • Creating Demand. Find, qualify and develop opportunities with prospects and clients. Understand frameworks, government departments and partners and be able to use that understanding to create and close opportunities.

  • Pitching and Proposals. Inspire and lead teams to successfully win new work with existing clients and new prospects. This includes a strong understanding of government procurement and how to write winning proposals.

  • Forecasting and Planning. Accurately forecast your pipeline for extensions, expansions and new business. Work with your colleagues in delivery and finance to accurately forecast revenue for ongoing work. Design and execute Account Plans / GTM Plans to take a systematic approach to revenue growth.

  • Contracts and Negotiation. Work with a cross-functional team of delivery, tech, and strategy leaders to estimate, plan, and sell commercial proposals to our clients and prospects. Then successfully negotiate and close long-term, balanced contracts that provide value to both parties.

  • Adding Value. Stay abreast of Public Sector and Technology trends. Leverage your insights to identify opportunities, add value to client relationships, and build on Waracle’s reputation as high quality experts.

Job requirements

  • Proven track record of finding, qualifying, and closing valuable interesting work.

  • Proven track record of growing revenue with enterprise clients or large central government departments. 

  • Strong relationships skills, including those required for negotiating, challenge resolution, and networking in large, complex organisations.

  • Strong commercial stewardship and the ability to instil that in others. An effective approach to negotiation, especially negotiating commercial contracts.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present credibly at board and executive levels.

  • A solid grasp of Waracle’s services, industry trends, and the broader digital technology landscape. Paired with a deep understanding of the Public Sector.
