Waracle is looking for a Senior QA Engineer with expertise in both manual and automation testing to join our dynamic team.
This is a hybrid role working from any of our offices in the UK (Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh or London).
The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of testing best practices and standards, along with the ability to coach and mentor others in the field. This role involves developing and executing test strategies, enhancing test automation frameworks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality in our products.
As a Senior QA Engineer your duties will include:
Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test scripts, and test cases to ensure high-quality product releases.
Automate functional, regression, and end-to-end tests for mobile application, ensuring thorough test coverage and effective defect identification.
Perform manual testing when needed to validate functionality, usability, and consistency of the mobile app and associated backend services.
Collaborate closely with development and product teams to ensure proper CI/CD pipelines and processes are implemented, enhancing build, integration, and release processes.
Conduct performance testing and monitor application performance post-release, identifying any potential bottlenecks and issues.
Implement best practices for mobile and .NET QA, promoting high standards across all QA activities.
Maintain high standards in code quality, security, and API testing.
Log, track, and manage software defects effectively and communicate issues to relevant teams with clear, concise, and actionable insights.
Job requirements
Requirements
Proficient in automation tools and frameworks for mobile app testing such as Detox, Appium and Jest.
Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber) is a plus.
Experienced with back-end API testing and automation testing with Postman, Bruno or similar.
Comprehensive understanding of functional and non-functional testing, including performance and regression testing.
Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
Proficient in at least one programming language for automation scripting.
Ability to create test strategies and plans, ensuring comprehensive test coverage based on specifications.
Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA and leading triage meetings.
Strong problem-solving abilities to identify risks and propose effective solutions.
Experience communicating with clients and stakeholders regarding testing progress and findings.
Familiarity with industry-specific QA practices, particularly in finance, healthcare, or technology.
