Waracle is looking for a Product Owner to join us on a permanent basis.


This is a hybrid role working from any of our offices in the UK (Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh or London)

In this role, you’ll play a key part in driving innovation, working closely with diverse internal teams and clients to deliver impactful products. You'll lead the product backlog, collaborate with a talented development team, and shape the product roadmap to meet business goals and client needs. If you’re experienced in app development, possess strong technical knowledge, and are an excellent communicator and team player, this is a great opportunity to make a meaningful contribution
As a Product Owner, your duties will include:

  • Client-Facing & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with clients to gather requirements, provide updates, and manage expectations. Act as one of the primary points of contact between the client and the internal development team.

  • Backlog Management: Own and prioritise the product backlog. Develop and refine user stories, ensuring alignment with product strategy and client requirements.

  • Wireflow Management: Own and actively manage the product wireflows in collaboration with UX/UI and development team members.

  • Agile & Scrum Leadership: Actively participate within an agile framework, participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Ensure the team understands the product vision and goals.

  • App Experience & Technical Understanding: Collaborate with the development team, leveraging your experience in mobile and web app development. Have a reasonable understanding of technical aspects, including APIs and integrations, to bridge communication between developers and stakeholders.

  • Product Roadmap: Build and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap, ensuring continuous product improvement and timely feature delivery.

  • Managing Dependencies: Handle dependencies between teams and clients to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Communication: Effectively communicate with both clients and internal teams, ensuring clarity in project goals, timelines, and deliverables. Write clear, concise, and actionable user stories and technical requirements.

  • UX/UI Knowledge: Work closely with design teams to ensure that the user experience and interface are intuitive, efficient, and meet client needs.

  • Workshop facilitation and collaboration: Lead internal and client workshops to build and maintain product backlog, and participate in discovery workshops for new technical features

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner in a tech business, ideally with client-facing responsibilities.

  • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies, including backlog management, user story creation, and sprint planning.

  • Hands-on experience with app development projects, with a good grasp of technical concepts such as APIs and system integrations.

  • A solid understanding of UX/UI principles to guide the development of user-friendly products.

  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple client dependencies while maintaining an ongoing product roadmap.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—able to communicate clearly and effectively with both clients and internal teams.

  • Strong team player with the ability to foster a collaborative and positive working environment.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience building and managing a long-term product roadmap.

  • Familiarity with app design and development, particularly within a client-focused environment.

  • Knowledge of API integrations and experience managing technical dependencies.

  • Ability to handle multiple stakeholders and projects while keeping a clear focus on priorities.
