Waracle are looking for a Senior Android Developer for an exciting new role joining the UK’s Largest Mobile App Developer.

It’s an amazing time to join our team and you’ll be supported by a rapidly growing team of experienced specialists in design research, UX, UI, Scrum, product, data and cyber security, alongside developers specialising in native, hybrid and web technologies.


This position will be Hybrid Working position working 2 days a week in the Central London office. The role is a Inside IR35 contract position.


As a Senior Android Developer, you will take a pivotal role in designing, developing, and leading the implementation of Android applications. You will provide technical leadership, solve complex challenges, and mentor team members while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The role requires two days on-site in London, with flexibility for remote work the remainder of the week.


Technical Leadership:

  • Develop high-quality Android applications.

  • Provide guidance on technologies and set technical standards.

  • Implement scalable, innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Project Management Integration:

  • Align development with project goals and methodologies.

  • Lead technical project aspects and mentor team members.

  • Address challenges with strategic, project-aligned solutions.

Version Control Expertise:

  • Lead version control strategy and best practices.

  • Address complex version control issues and innovate methods.

  • Oversee integration of version control in project workflows.

Client Engagement:

  • Identify client needs and create tailored solutions.

  • Manage client expectations and maintain strong relationships.

  • Handle project scope changes effectively.

Job requirements

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Android development, with expertise in Kotlin and Java.

  • Strong understanding of Android SDK, RESTful APIs, and modern mobile architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVP).

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Dagger/Hilt), and version control systems like Git.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to handling challenges.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
