This is a hybrid role working from any Waracle office (Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh or London) at least 2 days per week. 

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will drive continuous integration and delivery practices, optimise cloud infrastructure, and champion best practices across our digital projects. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the  technical direction and mentoring our talented engineers. You'll be instrumental in defining and implementing the strategies that ensure applications are built, tested, and deployed with unparalleled speed, reliability, and security. 

You’ll be expected to:

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust continuous integration and delivery pipelines for various applications, optimising for efficiency and reliability.

  • Take the lead in setting up and managing infrastructure using modern infrastructure-as-code principles and tools.

  • Develop and manage secure API gateways, load balancers, and advanced networking components to ensure optimal performance and protection.

  • Contribute to architectural decisions, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategies, providing technical leadership and expertise.

  • Design and implement robust identity and access management solutions to secure application access and ensure data integrity.

  • Work closely with development and quality assurance teams to streamline build, test, and deployment processes, fostering a culture of efficiency and shared ownership.

  • Engage with clients to proficiently extract complex requirements, manage expectations, and effectively communicate technical solutions and value propositions.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing project requirements, technologies, and timelines, and taking on leadership responsibilities when needed.

  • Foster a collaborative environment, communicate complex ideas clearly, and actively mentor and coach team members to achieve collective goals.

Job requirements

Skills and Experience Required

  • Demonstrated experience in designing, deploying, and managing infrastructure and applications on Azure.

  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications (familiarity with Native applications preferred).

  • Proven commercial experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, ARM, or Bicep).

  • Hands-on experience with containerisation tools and platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes.

  • Knowledge of API integrations and managing secure API endpoints.

  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).

  • Proactive individual who actively seeks to expand knowledge and keep up with industry trends. 

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand complex requirements and offer comprehensive solutions.
