Job description
Waracle are looking for a Senior/Lead Product Designer for an exciting new role joining our world-class digital technology consultancy and home to a diverse, smart, curious and ambitious community of specialists in technology-driven transformation.
We work with ambitious clients to help them solve their biggest business and customer challenges. We help our clients to innovate and create intelligent digital products and services. We thrive on complex challenges and deliver business-critical IT transformation projects, moving seamlessly from strategy, design and delivery to operations.
This is a Hybrid role working from any of our UK offices (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee or London) 2 days a week
Your Role as a Senior/Lead Product Designer
Are you a Senior/Lead Product Designer ready to make a significant impact by translating complex problems into clear, usable, and inclusive digital solutions? We are looking for visionary Design Leaders to join our growing team. Whether you are a Senior Product Designer ready to own complex end-to-end journeys or a Lead Product Designer eager to shape the strategic vision for large-scale accounts, we want to hear from you.
In this role, you will own end-to-end design for complex initiatives, new journeys, and product areas, ensuring solutions align with business goals, technical feasibility, and our brand vision. You’ll help define and scale our design systems, set the direction for major projects, and drive accessible, data-informed iteration. Acting as the face of design for large projects or client accounts, you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and present with confidence in a fast-paced, client-facing environment, while mentoring junior designers and championing best-practice tools and processes.
Key aspects of the role include
Drive Design Excellence: Lead interaction design and define visual directions that align with strategic brand visions.
Champion Inclusive Design: Lead accessibility audits and define custom requirements to ensure our products work for everyone.
Strategic Leadership: For Lead roles, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, leading workshops and shaping project visions from the top down.
Scaling Systems: Maintain and evolve comprehensive design systems to ensure consistency and efficiency across platforms.
Collaborate & Mentor: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and "bringing others with you".
Data-Driven Iteration: Use analytics, research, and A/B testing to refine designs and improve user experiences.

What you’ll bring to the role
Proven experience leading complex product design initiatives from concept through to implementation.
Extensive experience in Product Design, including time in a Senior or Lead role, ideally within a digital consultancy or agency environment.
Strong end-to-end product thinking, with the ability to define and lead design strategy from discovery through to launch.
Deep UX/UI expertise across research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and prototyping (e.g. Figma).
Demonstrated ability to define, govern, and scale design systems and visual language.
Strong understanding of technical feasibility and constraints, enabling effective collaboration with engineering teams.
Confident client-facing experience, including leading workshops and presenting to senior stakeholders.
Excellent leadership, communication, and mentorship skills, with experience developing and guiding design talent.
Nice to have:
Experience leading accessibility audits, testing, and championing inclusive design best practices.
Hands-on experience running A/B tests and using data and analytics to inform design decisions.
Experience acting as the design lead for large programmes, accounts, or long-term client engagements.
Familiarity with embedding design best practices, tools, and processes across teams or organisations.
